3. San Francisco 49ers (from HOU via MIA) – Mac Jones, QB, Alabama

Lynch and Shanahan are putting on a master class in draft smokescreens. Rolling with Mac Jones in this one.

4. Atlanta Falcons – Kyle Pitts, TE, Florida

Atlanta serves as a pivot, a spot where not projecting trades might take things off the rails early. Pitts is such a fun prospect, and would be a natural successor to Julio as a hyper-athletic difference maker.

5. Cincinnati Bengals – Penei Sewell, OT, Oregon

While the idea of pairing Burrow with his former star wideout is interesting, investing in Sewell is the smarter move to help keep Burrow clean.

6. Miami Dolphins (from PHI) – Ja’Marr Chase, WR, LSU

7. Detroit Lions – Justin Fields, QB, Ohio State

It’s tempting to look at the non-QB options for Detroit, but the roster is so far away that they opt to take their shot now. Fields’ numbers versus top competition are impressive, and he will be allowed a year to develop behind Goff and his albatross of a contract. By the time the team is ready to compete, Fields will likely be heading into year three and ready to go.

8. Carolina Panthers – Trey Lance, QB, North Dakota State

Lance is definitely a projection, but the traits are insane. Carolina and Joe Brady seem like a good fit to help him reach his potential in time.

9. Denver Broncos – Micah Parsons, LB, Penn State

10. Dallas Cowboys – Patrick Surtain II, CB, Alabama

11. New York Giants – Rashawn Slater, OT, Northwestern

12. Philadelphia Eagles (from SF via MIA) – DeVonta Smith, WR, Alabama

The Eagles make the tough choice between Bama receivers, going with the route artisan to complement last year’s first rounder Jalen Reagor. Smith is so smooth.

13. Los Angeles Chargers – Christian Darrisaw, OT, Virginia Tech

14. Minnesota Vikings – Azeez Ojulari, EDGE, Georgia

15. New England Patriots – Jaycee Horn, CB, South Carolina

Despite the trade-up talk, it would be such a Pats move to stay put and snag an elite corner with NFL bloodlines.

16. Arizona Cardinals – Jaylen Waddle, WR, Alabama

17. Las Vegas Raiders – Alijah Vera-Tucker, OG, USC

18. Miami Dolphins – Zaven Collins, LB, Tulsa

Love this player and fit, I’m fully expecting Collins to have his name called at some point Thursday night.

19. Washington Football Team – Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, LB, Notre Dame

20. Chicago Bears – Teven Jenkins, OT, Oklahoma State

21. Indianapolis Colts – Kwity Paye, EDGE, Michigan

22. Tennessee Titans – Greg Newsome, CB, Northwestern

23. New York Jets (from SEA) – Jayson Oweh, EDGE, Penn State

24. Pittsburgh Steelers – Asante Samuel Jr., CB, Florida State

25. Jacksonville Jaguars (from LAR) – Najee Harris, RB, Alabama

Looking at the Jags roster, there’s a chance Meyer wants more at running back than undrafted wonder James Robinson and an aged Carlos Hyde.

26. Cleveland Browns – Christian Barmore, DT, Alabama

While the interior D-line class seems weak, Barmore has some solid traits. He can wreak havoc in Cleveland on limited snaps early, between two ends who get serious blocking attention.

27. Baltimore Ravens – Landon Dickerson, OG/C, Alabama

If Dickerson’s medicals check out, this seems like a perfect team-player fit.

28. New Orleans Saints – Jamin Davis, LB, Kentucky

Big first round for athletic off-ball linebackers. Davis can fly and is a fun projection for the Saints defense. In this mock, he would be covering Pitts twice a year after doing so admirably at the college level.

29. Green Bay Packers – Elijah Moore, WR, Ole Miss

Aaron Rodgers should be happier after this one. Moore would be an excellent complement to what Davante Adams does, and provides serious speed and strong hands to build trust with Rodgers.

30. Buffalo Bills – Caleb Farley, CB, Virginia Tech

Tough to get a read on Farley with the medical information so scattered this year, his window of where he could go is as wide as any.

31. Baltimore Ravens (from KC) – Joe Tryon, EDGE, Washington

32. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Kadarius Toney, WR, Florida

Super Bowl winner returning all 22 starters—how often does that happen? There aren’t many positions where a rookie could make an immediate impact on this roster, but Toney would add another element to an already explosive offense. The definition of a luxury pick for a team that can afford to make one.
